A company in the USA called Misapplied Sciences Inc  have designed and invented a screen that from different viewpoints shows different content.

This then means that a single monitor can convey appropriate and different content to different people who are located in different positions.

In the diagram above the driver in one lane can be relayed a different message to the driver in the other.

This could radically change what screens can be used for and the amount of appropriate content they can be used for.

One of the team of inventors is quoted as saying:

“Bill Gates, when he started Microsoft, had this crazy idea that in the future there would be a computer on every desk. People thought he was nuts,” said Paul Dietz, the Misapplied Sciences co-founder, chief technology officer and chairman. “We have a version of that. Our version is that, in the future, everything you see on a public display will be targeted to you.”

It takes a moment to get to grips with what you are seeing in the image above. There is in fact only one screen in the display above. There are also 11 (eleven) mirrors slightly off-set and pointing towards the one screen. Different content is then seen by each of the mirrors and reflected. Its is worth taking a minute take this in.

We don;t have these screens just yet available – but I can only imagine that when they are affordable and available we will.

Imagine potential clients walking about an exhibition and seeing different content as they move about your stand or approach. Lots of possibility to get very creative.
